Brainsparker Launches “The I.D.E.A.S. Habit” – A New Creativity Tool To Help Solve Any Problem (Infographic)
January 14, 2020
Brainsparker, makers of the No.1 creativity app, have launched The I.D.E.A.S. Habit, a creative thinking tool that helps people generate better ideas to solve problems and challenges in their life and at work.
According to the World Economic Forum, the fourth industrial revolution means that creativity, originality and problem-solving are set to be the most in-demand skills for business leaders and workers by the year 2022.
“Problem-solving will become more complex, but unless we train our brain to think differently, it will naturally revert to the easiest and fastest solutions available. That’s why I’ve developed the I.D.E.A.S. Habit to help people generate better ideas to solve the challenges that life, or work, throws at them,” says Gabriella Goddard, Founder & CEO of brainsparker.
There are five elements that make up The I.D.E.A.S. Habit. You can follow each element sequentially, or you can randomly pick one and use it as a theme for brainstorming.

I = IMAGINE
One of the best ways to approach problem-solving is not to focus on the issue right in front of you, but to take a step back and create a compelling vision of the ideal outcome. Then you can brainstorm on ways to achieve this vision of success, rather than solve the problem that exists today.
D = DISRUPT
To come up with new ideas you’ve got to disrupt your routine patterns of thinking. Using random prompts like words, images and even music can help provide a different viewpoint that triggers new connections and fresh ideas.
E = EMPATHIZE
The ability to step into the shoes of your users or customers can be crucial to your creative success. By spending time with them and understanding what’s important to them, means you’ll be able to develop a solution that will delight them.
A = ASK
Questions are one of the best ways to stimulate your creativity, especially open-ended ones. Some great questions to ask are: What do you want? What do you need? What’s not working? What else? What if? How might we…?
S = SHAPE
Most ideas don’t come fully formed the first time. They need time to evolve and transform. So, take your initial ideas and see how you might be able to connect them, combine them, enhance or even simplify them.
“Problem-solving can be difficult. You can easily get stuck along one line of thinking and settle for simple, ineffective solutions,” says Gabriella Goddard. “The I.D.E.A.S. Habit offers a focussed approach to solving problems and designing solutions that are more creative, disruptive and executable. Plus it will future-proof your career.”
