self-reflection:
As you have conversations over the coming week, be really mindful of what level of listening you are in.
If you notice you are in Level 1 listening (self mind chatter) then consciously shift into Level 2 listening (focused listening.)
As you listen at Level 2, tune in to the more subtle cues of Level 3 listening (global listening.)
What do you notice?
What impact does listening at Level 2 & 3 have on the conversation?
What do you take away from this exercise?
A fun exercise to do in a group is to break into pairs.
Person A shares a challenge for at least 2 minutes.
Person B simply listens.
At the end of the 2 minutes, Person B reflects back what they heard, and any insights or intuitions they picked up.
Then swap over.
This is a great exercise to become more mindful of what level of listening you are in, and how you can shift into Level 2 or 3 if you need to.
